West Riding Organics Ltd is a family firm producing environmentally friendly growing media and top soils. Since the 1990’s, the demand for organic produce has increased dramatically and hence the requirement for top quality organic media/soil. We offer an efficient, friendly and professional service at all times, aiming to fulfil all your organic media/soil requirements.

West Riding Organics was formed in 1988 when the word organics was very little used, let alone sold in a supermarket. In late December 2007, West Riding Organics came into new ownership. It is now a limited company hence the name West Riding Organics Ltd other than this the company remains the same, using the same methods and ingredients.

We are proud to present our range of organic growing media, which are Soil Association certified, to cover all stages of your organic plants growth. All our growing media are manufactured from sustainable ingredients, hence the name “Natures Own” growing media. Our growing media is unique in that it is based on Moorland Gold – the naturally derived peat. Our growing media has continued to support the growth of organic produce and maintains support from conservational groups.

Moorland Gold Derived Peat is a naturally washed peat product comprising of leaf mould and sphagnum. This is collected without damage to the surrounding countryside through a unique source of water filtration, helping protect peat bogs for future generations. Moorland Gold is rich in naturally occurring minerals and trace elements and when combined with sustainable ingredients creates a range of ideal growing medias.

This allows you, the grower, to use highly nutritious peat growing media with a clear conscience, leaving peat moors untouched for wildlife to flourish and generations to enjoy.

The basic ingredient is also used as high quality top soils, where degrees of sand can be added to create the ideal soil for all types of personal and commercial use.

Other services we provide is the sale of pebbles and stones, bark, river sand, screen hire and small scale ground work and excavation.
